A Campaign Designed to Bring Awareness to Identity Theft Issues
LifeLock®, the recognized industry leader in the prevention of identity theft, is initiating the first ever grassroots "Strike Back - Defeat Identity Theft Now" campaign to bring attention to the serious issues that affect consumers as a result of identity theft.
LifeLock will travel for two weeks and log 6,620 miles, stopping in numerous markets along the East Coast. Along the campaign trail, LifeLock CEO Todd Davis, accompanied by identity theft prevention ambassadors and former victims, will host events and seminars to shed light on the growing crime of identity theft. Attendees will have the opportunity to sign a petition requesting Congress enact more stringent laws to protect consumers from losses of data, problems of identity theft, and prosecute the perpetrators of the crime. The petition will be handed over to members of Congress in Washington, D.C. on March 6.
For eight straight years, identity theft has been labeled "The Fastest Growing Crime in the U.S.", with millions of victims and billions in losses. Consumers need to have a better understanding of the problem, how it really affects them and the ways to prevent the problems usually associated. The "Strike Back" tour will accomplish this mission by stopping in areas ranked high on the FTC list for identity theft.
